Editors Note - The much-awaited Kucinich web site is now up and running. You can visit it here www.house.gov/kucinich.
According to a December 4, 1999 article in the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Dennis Kucinich is one of only eight congressmen (of 435) who do not have a web site!
"Dennis Kucinich likes to be at the fore of political issues, but has let an important trend - the information superhighway - pass him by." In the past five years, the congressional web sites have rack up over five million hits so there must be some interest by constituents. "Having a web site makes an office more efficient, because its a good source of centralized data" according to Jason Poblete, a spokesman for the House office that helps members administer their web sites. "Web pages give constituents information on everything from getting a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol to visiting Washington, D.C."

Kucinich's colleagues in the Ohio delegation agree that a web site makes them more effective. According to Sherrod Brown, "People say they like it and it's helpful". He gets an average of 60 hits a day. Congressman Steve LaTourette, whose site gets 362 hits a day, says that many of his web site hits are from schools that use his site for its useful links to government information sites, like the one that provides the text of bills in congress.
According to the article, Kucinich promised a web site years ago but they never got around to it. They hope to have one next year - maybe he'll be the last one on the Internet!
