Republicans, usually afraid of populist U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich, have put up only token opposition. Now emboldened by Kucinich's anti-war stance, fringe presidential candidacy and abortion flip-flopping, they're planning to try harder this time. Jim Trakas, co-chairman of the county GOP, led a caucus in Rocky River. The group hopes to draft a serious candidate - perhaps Westlake Mayor Dennis Clough or Ohio Rep. Sally Conway Kilbane of Rocky River. Kucinich was unfazed.
